Photo safari

One of the books I read before going to Africa was Camera Adventures in the African Woods by A. Rancyffe Dugmore, 1903. I am so glad photographic technology has progressed since then. I'm glad I didn't have to take the same kind of risks he took to get good pictures of lions. It made my life easier. Actually, camera technology made my trip possible - my parents paid my way, on the condition that I get

a) a family picture for the Christmas card

b) portraits of animals "good enough for National Geographic" that they can blow up to poster size and hang in their house

I'm now sorting through 3,600+ digital images. I think I satisfied both requirements.
