Comments:
You've GOT to read Dune - don't bother with the sequels, but read the original. It takes about six chapters to get into because of the language and the strangeness of the cultures, but it's (as far as I'm concerned) the most flawless, best executed, and most engrossing novel I've ever read.

I think Frank Herbert had one, exquisite novel in him, and Dune was it.

Dune's been on my list for a while, but I'm always skeptical of science fiction. It takes a lot for me to overcome my initial wariness of an author's ability to create a realistic world, explain it to me, and tell an interesting story.

But I think the recommendations to read Dune have reached critical mass. Time to buy a copy.

Great work!
